SUStars Blog Hop April 2011

Welcome to my blog! The SUStars April Blog Hop starts on Saturday, but I'll be at camp so I'm posting early. If you're here early, come back over the weekend!

If you are following our Hop, you should have arrived from FancyNancyKay's blog. If you'd like to start at the beginning, click here. SUStars is a Yahoo!Group just for SU! demos. If you're interested in joining us, click here.

This month our Blog Hop theme is ABC - Anything But a Card. These are some cute tin pails I found at the Dollar Spot at one of my favorite stores. You know the one, I'm sure!

The pails are decorated using our exclusive Island Floral Big Shot die. I used Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight card stocks. The Tempting Turquoise flowers are sponged with Pacific Point classic ink. The Pumpkin Pie flowers are sponged with Tangerine Tango. The Melon Mambo flowers are sponged with Melon Mambo ink. The white and yellow center flowers are sponged with Daffodil Delight.

After sponging them, I curled each petal around my finger for some dimension.

The flowers are held together with a silver brad. The leaves are stuck on with Glue Dots, and each entire flower is stuck on the pail using a hot glue gun.

I tied Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White and Daffodil Delight grosgrain ribbons around the handles for the final touch. I wish we still carried Tempting Turquoise grosgrain!

If anyone is local to me and would like one of these pails, I am selling them for $5 each. I am raising funds for my Relay for Life walk next month. I have four left!

Blog Candy: Would you like some of these flowers to play with? I'll make a packet of flowers and send it to one lucky person who comments on this post!

Your next stop on the hop is Bluegrass Stamper's Studio. You'll love her work!

Happy Hopping!

April Birthday Card Bonanza

It's spring! Time for crocuses, tulips, and Daffodil Delight! Both cards for this month feature this sunny color.

The Easter card is made with Trendy Trees and the snowflake punch! Can you stand it? It's so stinkin' cute. I got the carrot idea from the Ink Paper Stamps blog, and altered a layout from somewhere else.

Cards are still $1 each with envelope. Greetings can be changed to meet your needs. Let me know how many of each you'd like to make. We'll meet on April 1st at 7PM (no joke!).

Here are the two cards for tonight's Birthday Card Bonanza. As you can see, one of them is for Valentine's Day.

As always, cards are $1 each. Let me know how many you'd like to make. We'll make them after the party.

SALE-A-BRATION PARTY at 7PM

How can you get these freebies? You can pick one free product with every $50 you spend on products from our Idea Book & Catalog or the Occasions Mini Catalog. There is no limit to how many free products you can earn!

This is also a great time of year to host your own workshop. You get exclusive benefits as a hostess, free Sale-A-Bration products with your own order, plus a free Sale-A-Bration product when your workshop is $300 or more. Contact me to book a date.

Let me know if you can make it tonight (give me a call!) so I will be sure to have enough materials prepared for everyone.

Seasonal Frame Series

Here is the January piece for my Seasonal Frame series. It is made with the Ice Cream Parlor DSP & Quick Accents Pack that is featured in our Sale-a-Bration catalog. (Sale-a-Bration starts on Janury 25th this year!) It is full of flowers and cheery colors. I had to get a bit creative to make it look wintry! I think it turned out well.

The colors used are Pacific Point, Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, Peach Parfait (InColor) and Pumpkin Pie.

I used a couple of retired sets for the stamped snowflakes and some words. The cute little penguin is from Every Little Bit. "January" comes from the Full Calendar set.

A couple squares have Moonlight Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink on them. The snowflake on the top right is painted in Smooch, as well as the white circle in the bottom row. It really made it shimmer!

I am considering doing this as a cyclical class, meaning that I will just keep doing these frames all year, every year and you can dive into the series at any time. If you are interested in joining us, please let me know.

Happy Stampin'!
